Options in the Data Menu include:
- New Data Set: This will
create a new data table in which you can type or paste new
data.

delete a data set, select it, then choose this menu option. You
can also delete a data set by clicking the "close box" in the
upper-left corner of the window.

The Rename Data Set Dialog
|
Rename Data Set: To rename a

from the Data Menu. Type the new name into the dialog that
appears.

The Increment Dialog
|
Increment: Instead of manually
typing a whole list of data values that simply increase or
decrease by a set amount, Graphical AnalysisTM
will fill in the data column for you. Here's how:
- Position the cursor at the first data value in the
column.
- Select "Increment" from the Data Menu.
- Type in the starting value, the increment, and the ending
value, then click the "OK" button.
- Sort: To sort a data column (smallest
value at the top), highlight it, then select "Sort" from the Data
Menu.
|
The Data Statistics Dialog
|
Statistics: To get statistics on a
data column, highlight the column by clicking its heading, then
select "Statistics" from the Data Menu. Statistics displayed
include:
- Data Set: This is a pull-down menu, so you can view column
statistics for other data sets.
- Column Label
- Column Units
- Number of Values
- Mean (average)
- Standard Deviation (a measure of the spread of the data - a
large value means that the data is "spread out", a small value
means that it is "clumped together")
- Minimum
- Maximum
- Color: To change the (graph) color of
a data set, highlight it by clicking in its window. Select "Color"
from the Data Menu. This will bring up a standard color dialog
from which you can choose a new color.
-
Data Options...: When you
select "Data Options..." from the Data Menu, the dialog shown at
right will be displayed. You can change:
- Rounding: You can select a particular number of significant
digits or decimal places.
- Angle Measurement: You can select to measure angles in
either degrees or radians.
