Law of Reflection & Images
Instructions:
You will find a diagram representing the positions of an object
and its image in a plane mirror in the space below.
On this diagram are also marked 3 points labeled E1, E2 and E3.
These points represent three possible positions of a person's eye as
they look into the mirror at the image.
For each point E1, E2, and E3:
- carefully construct the path of the light ray that leaves the
object, reflects from the mirror, and reaches the observer's eye.
- then construct the normal to the mirror at the point where the
ray reflects
- and measure the angle ofincidence and angle of reflection for
each ray. (Record your data in a simple data table).
